The synthesis of academic instruction and residential programming reinforces skills and enhances learning. Linking instruction, enrichment programming, and community-based experiences provide authentic opportunities for students to practice and apply skills.

Vocational
Structured much like a college campus, GROW students live in dorms, take classes and participate in an extensive internship program. There are 4 flagship programs that make Riverview’s GROW Transition Program the gold standard in post-secondary education for students with complex special needs.

Independent Living
Riverview exists to empower students to maximize their potential and prepare them for lives of purpose, happiness and independence. From social skills and communication to cleaning, laundry and cooking, the lessons that students learn in the dorms last well beyond Riverview.

Social Emotional
Healthy relationships are a foundational component of success and happiness; therefore, social skills teaching is embedded in all aspects of programming. As a community that aspires to reflect and prepare our students for the increasingly diverse world, Riverview supports and nurtures the whole child and their full identity.

Wellness
Riverview’s Wellness Program focuses on the benefits of keeping active, healthy eating and being mindful. The overall goal is for our students to develop a wellness mindset, learn skills to support this mindset, and internalize healthy living habits that will guide them in life after Riverview.

Riverview is creating a longitudinal model of education, support, and connection for alumni through the introduction of our new post-21 program, Friends Forever.
